Anything can show up here from doodles, to comics, to digital and traditional work. I try to update at least weekly, with two or more comics per week and whatever else I happen to whip up and find Internet-worthy in between.
While a lot of my comics are at least inspired by real events, if not directly based on them in some form or other, this is not the case with this one. I didn’t even make a cobbler this week (it does sound yummy, though.) And there’s also a cameo from a certain Thief. (If you haven’t seen The Thief and the Cobbler, by the way, go watch it! Seriously, it’s one of my favorites, though there is no dessert-cobbler. Just a shoemaker-cobbler.)
Also, any suggestions for a better font, one that’s available in Manga Studio 5? I’m not sure this one quite works with smaller speech bubbles. >.>;
I should probably say this here: the Adventures of Hipster Bunny and Friends comic series… I don’t think I’ll be able to launch it anytime soon after all. Of the comics I’ve drawn out so far, only one of them I feel would really even work, and it’s best I try not to over-extend myself while I’m in school anyway. Randomosity (the series that Comic Friday and Sunday Funnies comics are from) will continue, of course; and maybe on a slow week I can scribble something up for the characters of Hipster Bunny and Friends as a substitute comic for a given week in that series. But other than that, unless something extraordinary comes about, it’s probably best to put it on the backburner indefinitely.
(This doesn’t mean I won’t ever draw them again, though - far from it.)
Surprise, Comic Friday is a day early this week! Well, sort of. I drew two new comics this week, so I’m posting one today, and the other tomorrow. Don’t expect the two-comic treatment every week, though; now that school’s started up I don’t know how much busier it’s going to get compared to the relative calm now. Also, signatures on my comics are now a thing.
So sorry for not keeping up with the daily drawings and weekend comic uploads this past week or two! Between moving to a new dorm, school starting up and SLCC (and having an awesome time with my friend who came up from my hometown to visit and went to SLCC with me), needless to say I haven’t had as much time for even drawing, let alone Tumblr.
That, and the more I think about it, the more I’m wondering if daily drawings should be a thing. Yes, I should draw something on a daily basis. Does it have to be finished, polished, and submittable to the Internet every day? Of course not! Do I need to keep this blog active? Yes, but perhaps delivering quality content (or trying to) is better than trying to post as much as I can. So with this in mind, and trying to balance my studies and my art (the latter of which is more or less strictly a hobby for now since going for the animation program didn’t work out but I still need to make my time here worthwhile and get a Bachelor degree in something), posts might be a little less frequent besides Sunday Funnies and Comic Fridays (when I have a new comic to upload for Comic Friday - I try to make that happen every week, but it doesn’t always happen for one reason or another). I’m sorry and thank you for your understanding.
Ain’t No Time Like Bath Time
Started this last night, and finished it up today on the road. Decided to post this to Tumblr first, not sure if I’ll be posting it on dA and/or Pixiv just yet or not. .w. If I do though I’ll add the links, as always.
Hopefully the more minimal/hatching style of shading worked out well on this (even if it’s probably a bit messy in places - gotta work on that).
Can we please stop stealing people’s art without their consent?
Especially Japanese artists?
Because believe or not, when you take a dojinka’s art and post it somewhere else without permission, not only will you make them very sad (not to mention angry) when they find out, but you…
